If you read through these boards about Budapest, you'll end up the following advice, which I wholeheartedly recommend:

1) Street action is minimal, not worth searching for

2) Bars, clubs, stripteases are too dangerous - rife with scams.

3) There are TONS of ridiculously beautiful girls availabe - they just have to be found in the following manner:

Prior to trip: Search online sites. Find one that has some English speaking girls. Call/email them (they sometimes have emails online). You can call ahead atime, before arriving in Budapest, to weed out the ones that don't actually speak English (which is, sadly, a majority of even the ones that say they do). You won't be able to make more prior arrangements than that - but you'll have a solid number to call when you arrive.


On arrival: Call the girls that speak decent English - until one answers the phone. Ask prices - typically 15,000 to 20,000 Fts for incall. More for outcall. Lots of girls only do incall.

Incall: The problem with incall is finding their place - when you call, she'll give you general directions, and tell you to phone again when you've arrived within a block of her house. Problem is, the pronunciation is so off the wall, that nobody will understand you when you try to find the place (this has happened to me, even while arranging with fluent english speakers). If you can stomach the frustration, it is the cheaper option.

Outcall: The problem, as mentioned, is that many girls don't do it, and the ones that do will charge more. It is worth it if you can splurge though, and is definitely less frustrating. The other benefit is having a big, comfy, western style bed to play on - her place is likely to have a hard couch, at best.

Sad what has become of Budapest from what I have read on these boards. I used to go there some in the mid 1980s when it was still "behind the iron curtain" and it was wonderful. There were very few tourists and I was in my early 20s. I ate at the best restaurants for $5 - $10 and meeting women was fairly easy, the only real barrier being langauge. I used to stay at cheap student hotels and finding girls there was a breeze. A lot of them were from eastern Europe and even the USSR on organized trips. If you wanted p4p, it was amazingly cheap and any taxi driver could help you out. I met a stunner Hungarian woman named Lilla in 1986, about 26 and was a few years older than me, and I have very fond memories of her. I travelled back to see her the following year, she was obviously looking to marry a westerner which she eventually did. There was also a hotel on an island in the middle of the Danube, had a Turkish bath complex and really great masseuses, does anyone know the name? In the night club there in the evenings, there were a lot of gorgeous women there for hire, as I recall $30 - $40 at the time, which was a lot of money in Hungary back then. Ah, the memories.

Also, from experience, "I speak English" with Hungarian girls often means they know half a dozen words.

Hungary has beautiful women, maybe the prettiest in europe. The only problem is they are Hungarian. Budapest is a beautiful city ruined by the Hungarians. The Hungarians are basically out to screw you. They could have the best sex industry going on anywhere in europe, better than Prague or Amsterdam, but they are more interested in rippng you off one time then building up a following. Every trick in the book is pulled or attempted there. Pure amature work, but thats the nature of the people. Whether it is in the sex clubs, restaurnants, stores, hotel etc, everyone is out to screw you.
If I was to go back to Hungary, I would not stay in Budapest. I would head down to Pesc in the southwestern of Hungary. Several people in Hungary told me about this city and its reputation for beautiful women. It is also a lot cheaper than Budapest. I can't speak of the monger situation there, but anything is better than Budapest.
That all said, it is truly a pity, because I loved the looks of the Hungies, they are beautiful women and geographically the cities of Buda and Pest are quite lovely. It is just the way they go about their business in all phases that ruins what could be a great city. Caveat Emptor

It is wierd after many trips to Prague to be told that the main whorehouse closes at 12 but we can go to a couple of places or get a takeaway to the hotel.
