A recent post on CAF regarding one of the members getting busted and having to go to John School has me re-evaluating who I visit and where I get the info from.

I have had a long run of good luck over the years, but the odds are changing as a result of a concerted effort by EPS to make a name by busting Johns on a regular sting program.

My contacts have told me the stings are so far tied into Backpage, where the sting results are turning in numerous guys for intent to pay for sexual services.

Soon to be explored will be other media used by the sex trade, such as Leo List, Craigslist, and even POF.

As the research and gathering of info by Vice and EPS increases, it will be my future plans to spend more time doing my homework before booking future appointments.

Currently one of the safest places to play is the licensed adult massage Parlors. Personally I believe the City of Edmonton should be arrested for benefitting from the profits they receive from licensing the adult Parlors. They are fully aware of what goes on in these establishments, but heads turn the other way. Yet they support Police efforts to operate stings to catch clients who venture outside the licensed Parlors for the same services offered in the Parlors.

Crazy, I know.

But fair warning, this is only the beginning and more and more illegal operations will be targetted and more Johns will be hauled in.

Be very careful who you communicate with, especially regarding any sexual inguiries before you head off to your appointment.

Yep, I agree, I think these stings are all about they money. An easy $750 from every guy who shows up, pay up or have your life ruined by criminal charges and very public court proceedings.

That thread was definitely an eye opener for me, will be much more cautious going forward, and sadly not too many TOFTT missions onto craigslist or backpage, since every new ad could potentially be a sting

Bob, I think you are right in that the safest way is now the licensed parlors, the police know full well what is going on there but they don't care because they are getting their cut.

Yes this sting caught me off guard, as I still think it violates thr Charter of Rights, but I doubt if Klauster is in a position to take it to the Supreme Court. But no more backpage for this guy. As long as people know better, and make sure that they absolutely report any human trafficking or underage exploitation, just can't figure out why anything between 2 consenting adults needs to be policed. Guess it's all about my money and taxes. So you get a license to operate a brothel. And legal marijuana. Peachy. Be careful now if meeting someone from POF or Tinder. Your offer to go for dinner might be construed as a an offer to buy sex. Get me out of here.

They only set up in hotels. EPS will never set up in a home or business type establishment. It is far to costly to rent an apartment for a handfull of men and women. They will always use a long distance number. They call everyone !! I know they have called me many times, and I do NOT go to hotels EVER. I also dont see anyone that calls from long distance numbers unless they have references.

As for busting clients, it is federally illegal to be a client. Bill C36 made sure of that. So while they are busting on the premise of bylaw infractions, it is a federal charge, tho EPS is not using this strong arm YET.

They do not want to shut down the MP's in Edmonton. If they did, those ladies will return to the streets and that causes a whole different problem. Which they cleaned up years ago.

Because the gentleman went to CAF publicly, every MP will see an increase in clients. Simply for safety. Though it could go a different way and they all get scared.

This was in the paper months ago, that EPS (bylaw) has increase their John school by 1/3 in 2017. This will only increase as time continues.

They will not spend that much time for a few people, so you DO want to meet for coffee or dinner if meeting from Tinder or POF. Because of history, they require SWAT to sting independent ladies working from their home. Once years ago, they went into an apartment where there was knives and guns and a brawl happened against the bylaw officers. Since this incident EPS takes bylaw officers safety seriously and in turn do NOT bother with home based ladies. Unless there are massive complaints, and/or drug complainants.

The City of Edmonton are GIVING licenses away for free because of the allegations of pimping. They recognized they're part in the cycle.

And yes, you and I may have been wrong about the licence fee but there is also business tax, GST, Income tax charged the owners and ladies...All those are a result of the business so the government, even the feds, are breaking their own laws and loving off the avails of prostitution.
