How do I introduce the characters in my novel?

Ok, so I'm writing a novel and I started to introduce the characters. The situation is that the characters I am introducing are like a camp faculty. There is about thirteen of them and it seems a bit dreadful because I keep having to do "My name is blah blah blah." Then I'd have to describe what they look like and such then move on to the next person and repeat. How can I introduce them more smoothly, or do you think that what I'm doing already is ok?

Change it up like "I glanced down at the name tag ...BLANK..." or "than BLANK walked up, I new his name from the rumors from around camp"

Whenever one of them does something like talk, then introduce them with as little description as possible. For example, the short red head shouted out,"But the peas are slimy!" then later explain more about the short red head. For example later have him brag about how he broke his legs and when appropriate like when the parents are introduced that the dad have the same eyes as the short red head.

Well, they could sit in a circle and do introductions.

1. A tall and thin man stands up first. His ginger hair and pale skin really makes him stand out in the crowd."My name is bill, i like soccer, well thats about it"
2. Next up is a small girl with bright blond hair and blue eyes stands. "Hi! so like my name is Jillian but you can call me bouncy. I like singing, dancing, acting, playing sports, hanging out, etc"
3. after that ordeal, a large boy stands up next. He's quiet and shy. "Uhh...M-my name is umm, James and uhh h-hi."

Or perhaps, you can have some of the characters run into each other before the camp or whatever starts and they can do the whole first impressions thing like.

"Hi, my name is Jillian!"
"Uhh H-"
"So why don't you smile?"
"I Uhh well-"
"You bore, me bye!"
