When looking for services the internet can be a pretty risky depending on what you're looking for. Sometimes things can seem to good to be true especially when searching for a masseuse.
Back in October there was a guy in his 40s seeking a 30-minute massage from a woman, 26-year-old Rachel Reed. He met with her at the Ramada by Wyndham Hotel & Suites on Davenport Avenue in Saginaw. The massage was priced at $200 which he paid her. But just after that a man wielding a gun came out of a closet and told him to leave. The gunman is identified as 23-year-old Kyle Jackson. The victim testified in a preliminary examination that he communicated with Reed online.
Even with a gun pointed right at him, the man stood his ground then called 911. Police arrested the couple charging the gunman with armed robbery and the woman with larceny. But late last year prosecutors were able to convince a judge to to dismiss her larceny charge.
You would think that Reed learned her lesson, but pulled the same stunt with a new accomplice. On January 26th a 35-year-old met with Reed at the Gateway Hotel in Mundy Township. He payed her $350 for a massage then she left the room. That's when 32-year-old Martwas Williams entered with a gun and told the victim to leave.
When the man left he Googled Rachel Reed's name and discovered that a similar incident happened just miles up the road.
The courts dismissed the charges against Kyle Jackson earlier this week, but Rachel Reed and Martwas Williams are still behind bars in the Genesee County Jail with pretrial hearing scheduled for April 14th.
