Curious,.... has anyone had to resort to walking out mid session before?

Like Mebad2018, I have walked out before because of a bait&switch; I have also refused extras because the massage was bad, but never mid massage.

I have walked before the start of an appointment when they asked me to fill out a long 3 page form requesting a huge amount of personal info at the reception desk.
Told her its not going to happen..... I am only here for an hour massage,.... she responded saying its mandatory. I said, well its a good thing this appointment is not mandatory as I turned and walked out...

Walking out prior to a massage when one does a walk-in is perfectly fine as neither party has any obligations.

Mid-massage, once I had to ask the therapist (?) to go and get the owner-therapist. The massage was absolutely terrible - no hand pressure whatsoever. The owner then remained with the new girl, and they both continued to give a massage together for the remaining 35-40 minutes of the hour. It became a "teaching experience".

I recently encountered that at a new legit place on the north side, right across the street from one of my work sites. I told the receptionist that I am paying cash and don't need direct billing, I just wanted to try the place, the receptionist still insisted. As soon as I put the blank paper back down and got ready to walk, the masseuse stepped in and told me to just sign the consent form, allowing her to touch me, and she was good to go. For a legit massage, it was pricey ($100 an hour) and weak, no return for me.

Rarely. There was this woman that was negotiating with me about extras mid-session and she was griping about how she was from Vancouver and how people there easily paid $100 for a HE and on and on. I got up from the table, got dressed and paid her half the base session fee and left. This was about 10 years ago and asking $100 for HJ on top of an overpriced massage fee was just outrageous. $100 for a HJ is too high now, and flat out ridiculous then. As an aside, the massage itself was terrible, and paying her half was too much.

I walked once mid session when at about 30 minutes into the massage the lady asked what extras I wanted and I responded with what is available? She said $160 for me to F..k her. I told her no and I only had $100 on me anyways. She said, “ no problem, there’s an ATM at the convenience store next door”.
I got dressed and told the manager what happened - I was her last client at that spa. The manager looked after me personally for 3 appointments with no room fees, only very reasonable tips.
I walked once recently when the attendant and I agreed to a body slide and that she would take a shower - she got undressed and asked me to lay face down and I asked her to shower first, she declined and told me she would shower after. I got dressed - paid the room fee at the front desk, discussed the events with the owner and left. I had been and continue to be a regular at this spa without further issue. The lady was pleasant enough afterwards and is likely showering now when requested.
Only two times I have walked out in 15 years.

Yup, or if they answer the door more than once my sense of humour quickly vanishes. Maybe we should start warning them in advance we deduct $20 for each interruption.

I Had a recent 90min scheduled appointment at Rosewater, no less than three times Jessie, left the room to look after "more important" front reception walk-in's. Yes she has skills ..... but after the second time she left the room, I was thinking of walking out but stayed with it. The third time was after the flip. In reflection, I will definitely not hesitate to walk out next time if this happens again.... anywhere....I will simply just drop the prorated time $ on the table and get dressed. A MT priority has been made if an unknown walk-in is more important than a scheduled generous client on the table.

The reason these types of poor practices continue is because many clients accept them like wimps. The correct approach for us clients is to remain polite but firmly remind them that any of these interruptions along with repeated use of phone (calls, texts) is a deal breaker. Early termination of appointment and never coming back are next levels of escalation. When you are paying around $1.50 per minute for basic massages these days, the provider better be focused. None of the excuses have merit.

And these types of infractions should be shared on boards. And on the other side of the coin, divulging less information on YMMV experiences may actually encourage more legit therapists to try out more (mutual) services with a few select clients they like.

I generally forgive 1 interruption during the massage, but any more than that and I won't repeat.

Yes, after getting off the table, putting clothes back on and speed dialling my favourite therapist who wonders why I see other women.

Hopefully our valued mp's will look at this thread in a positive way and recognize that disruptions both physically and mentally negatively affect the outcome of a session for a client. Nothing worse than a hunk of meat that gets re-heated in the pan a few times, .... it gets tough and chewy.

I have been wondering also, how many of the guys on here would go see there regular therapist if the extra services where no longer available ? Lots of the women on here are average at best, and there is a lot of better places to go to, but it seems that only one reason we keep returning to these ladies. We will put up with a average or below average massage, as long as there is more offered...

Just a thought...
