MP Review: Hands From Heaven (HFH)

For the benefit of new people on massageplanet.net, and since there is now a precedent for offering reviews of MPs (that is searchable!), here is my two cents on that hallowed of institutions, Hands From Heaven. (And I hope the title of this post has deterred those tempted to sigh and write "not again!" by giving them the option to not even read this thread.)

This was my first visit to HFH and, admittedly, it was precisely because of all the hoopla on massageplanet.net of this MP and of Cameron that I went. That, and after my disastrous experience at Silhouette, I need a new favourite spa.

On to HFH. I wouldn't say that I have been to *tons* of MPs, but I have sampled about a dozen or so. And I would easily rank HFH with the nicest -- on par with Invisible Touch, for those familiar with that.

Very functional web site: www.handsfromheaven.ca. (Ok, I'm a geek... that is the first thing I look at.) Everything you need to know is there.

Parking is not a problem. It is in an industrial park, and I had no trouble finding a spot. It is not discreetly placed, so if you have to worry about being seen going in, well, you have to worry about seen going in. The location is quite far for me, off Pine Valley Dr. just north of the 407, but it is all highway, so it is fast.

Reception is standard fare. Greeted at a window, and you are let into the inner sanctum after paying the door fee ($40 for 30, $50 for 45). Just inside, there is a small lounge with two couches, some skin mags, and a TV with satellite.

The room I had was "standard" size, not huge, not small. There was a small couch that I did not feel creepy sitting on, dimmed lighting and candles, and one of those butler stand things to put your clothes on. Oh, and there was an incense burner but I didn't see any fresh incense sticks. I should've asked...

The shower was very clean, and had one of those swizzle heads that are very friendly to tall people like myself. The towels are also somewhat largish, again something I appreciate. The soap is not odourless, so if you are doing this sort of thing on the sly, beware that you might not smell the same coming home as you left.

I don't think we need another review of MPAs from HFH, so I won't go there. But I will say that Cameron was stunningly beautiful, offered fantastic service, and will be a definite repeat. (Kayla, please offer my thanks again to Cameron for a wonderful lunchtime visit.) The only other person I saw there was Lisa, and she was also a looker.

My point of mentioning MPAs at all is that the photos on the web site are very accurate. Prior to my finding massageplanet.net, the web site was all I used to determine whether or not to try a new place. If the photos sucked (or weren't there), or the site sucked, then I wouldn't go. What else could I do? Note to MP owners: Pay attention to your site! BTW, Kayla does a nice thing where three weeks of schedule is posted at a time, which makes it easier to plan ahead. I hated waiting for that Sunday rollover that inevitably happened on Monday at some other sites.

So, all in all, I think that HFH certainly lived up to its reputation, if you took its reputation to be a very clean, professionally run establishment where you knew what you were getting and didn't feel grossed out getting it. I definitely do not feel that their rep is unwarranted, and will visit again.

Of course, if you mistakenly took their rep to be the Bellagio, well then you might be a bit disappointed.

Hey geek, you don't need to apologize that you're a geek, that is your name. I agree with you that Cameron is a goddess, as are other MPAs here. Ususally 4 MPAs per shift (sometimes 3), 2 shifts on weekdays and 1 shift on Saturday and Sunday.

Yeah, but very few places are like the Bellagio, although BP has some quality finishings that make me want to furnish my house like it.

I noticed my last visit at HFH they put a new leather couch in at least one of the rooms. It felt good to sit on and the arm wasn't broken as the last couch was. Have they put new furniture in all the rooms?

Also, I beleive the room closest to the front desk is the smallest while the two ones in the rear are a little larger.

although I like the atmosphere of HFH...and all the little amenities that this spa has...I would like to add that as a licensed spa it does require that all rooms have a window in them

...now for those who may think that their session would be viewed by others...i would believe that to be false...the attendants and management are concerned more that you are comfortable without the "big brother or sister" checking up on you...

I have been to HFH numerous times and this window issue has never been a problem BUT it is part of the facilities and needs to be known by all who want a COMPLETE facility review...

on the whole I would rate HFH highly in comparison to other spas I have been to...clean, friendly staff and last but not least hearing the washer and dryer gives me the biggest smile...towels are used once and hit the laundry...

as well not a facility issue but an overall issue...the amount of attendants are clearly stated on website as well as over the phone so you won't have to come and see and try and get lucky...everything and everyone is there ( well, except for Jade...missing her)...and if an attendant didn't make it in and you called you'd be told the truth...a customer service oriented spa to say the least...

Just a point about the windows. Yes, each door has a window, but it is covered from the hallway side, so that, even though someone could potentially check in (presumably their purpose), someone just idly walking by won't invade your privacy.

I noticed one window covering had the name of an MPA written on it, presumably to indicate who was in there. It was kind of a tacky, handwritten sign, though. A nice touch would be to get something fancier to serve that useful purpose.

Oh, and another thing. Where was the mint on my pillow? The web site says there are mints on the pillow. I was REALLY looking forward to that.

Ok, ok. I was REALLY looking forward to Cameron, but a mint would have been nice. Next time, I want TWO mints!

I'm sure you will find them in a bowl at the front desk as for the signs on the doors, sometimes the girls change rooms....but yeah, I think fancy signs would be a touch of class but remember $$ is everything in this business.

You certainly hit the mark with your description of HFH. Just the way I see it, and it provides a good sense for newcomers there. I too like the couches I've sat in - it's a great place to relax into the action- and for that reason, I want it clean and comfy. Nothing as sickening and off-putting as grungy tasteless chairs - except for dirty rugs under my feet. After showering at HFH, and drying off - I always leave feeling fabulous, healthy and invigorated.

.. when I first got HFH.. I opted to put the peep holes in the doors (that was when it was Empire Spa).. even though it was not in the bylaw. I did this because I wanted to be sure of what the girls were and were not doing in the rooms.. and secondly.. so that I can see how long the girl will be in the room if she has a client waiting and she is running over-time.

After HFH was renovated, I went to the 8x8 windows. I moved to the windows because clients and girls were putting oil on the peep holes which was frustrating and made it difficult for me. It's a nice thought to think you can go to a licensed mp and get a bj.. and god knows I have no problem with fs sp's.. I was one *S*.. but.. I have a problem with it when it happens in my establishment. Its a great feeling that lasts the guy a few minutes.. but risks the entire establishment as well as every girl there. The windows have a tint on them so that when the room is more lit than the hallway.. the people inside of the room cannot see out of the window to the hallway - they are covered by cloth. I am the only person who looks in the rooms as I have said before. And.. the windows are NOT in the Vaughan bylaw as of yet.. they are in Richmond Hill bylaw.

The papers on the door above the windows are not for the clients .. they are for the girls and myself to know which room the girl is in.. so if I have to check on her.. or get to the girl quickly for any reason, I can find the room quickly. I would never hang a plaque on any of the doors with their names.. it would bang against the door and make too much noise. But I can print them out on the computer with a script font.

My personal opinion of HFH is not as high as yours however. The paint on the walls is ugly - it is the wrong colour other than what I wanted. There are now tiles around the base of the showers on the floor to stop the water from seeping into the carpet. Eventually I plan on getting a front loading washing machine due to the towels becoming torn too quickly from the agitator in the washer we have. I would like to add another huge mirror to each room.. the phone system sucks.. there are many missed calls due to too much traffic - many clients call to find out who is on shift even though I am anal about having my schedule accurate on the web site - but the phone system is something I would like to change.. there is just many things that I would like to change.. it's not my dream mp.. but I think it is the atmosphere that makes it what it is.. not the material things that I see. In time.. in time

all those things in the last paragraph...didn't even need to be mentioned but glad you did...anything that creates convenience for you and your staff can only make it better for your spa...I guess the phone thing will never change due to the fact that many other mps have phone confirmations and it carries over...

maybe as a suggestion...you put the names of the girls who are available on a phone message once you open...they are confirmed because you have seen them and any missed calls will go to the message and potential clients will hear the message and be assured that their attendant of choice has come in to work...
