my ex introduced his new partner to my daughter without my permission?

So that means he is not allowed to move on and date again, selfish attitude, and it's not your daughter, it's both of you's daughter. You can't dictate when ex can have a girlfriend, or you just going to punish him for dating again, and stop him seeing his daughter.

If this is in writing, you could go to court over it. Also, if you control the visitation rights, then you could revoke the agreement.

However, if he legally has the visitations and it is not stipulated in that that he is not allowed to introduce her to his new partner, then I think you don't have much recourse.

If that is the case, I think the only thing you can do is talk to him about it.

You don't have the right to tell him who he can or can't have around the child when it's his time with her. Unless the people/person in question is endangering the child. I know you just separated, but that is his business, not yours now.

if it was legally binding then you can have him charged w/ contempt of court but seriously, did you really not expect him to introduce his new SO to his child? Did you think that you could keep her from him if he remarries? I can understand you not wanting her to meet every single woman he shags but is your request to not allow her to meet a serious partner really reasonable and realistic?

were you never going to introduce her to anyone you date? Were you going to give up custody of her and never see her again if you remarried? You never make a request like that unless you yourself are willing to abide by it.

I'm sorry your ex has moved on and I'm sorry that there is someone else in your daughter's life but those are the facts of life when you make kids and move on to new relationships.

If it is a problem for you...why don't the two of you sit down and have a discussion about it. I don't think every girlfriend should be introduced to children but I do think if they are serious...I can understand.

Why not say to your stbx - I support you moving on in your life and I hope you are happy...however, can we take it easy on introductions to our child. The divorce is hard enough without making things even more uncomfortable for her. If you guys are serious, and see a future together I can support you making this woman a part of our daughters life...but if you do not see long term potential with this gal then I don't want our daughter to get attached to her should the two of you break up. Can we work toward creating stability for her right now? Ask him what he thinks... Then keep quiet and hear what he has to say.

I think you have your daughters interest at heart here and don't want her affected any more than she has to be.

talk to your daughter about it, and im glad your ex husband is still around taking care of his daughter and he wants her to be in his life, i know its stinks that you guys have split up, but remember your daughter is important. and if the new women isn't causing any harm then you should be happy and move on. good luck

You might as well get used to it. It sucks, you don't know anything about his partner and she might not be someone you'd want your kid around...but you really don't have much of a say. The courts won't help you much unless the new girlfriend can be proven to be dangerous. Your life will get much easier when you learn to be civil and tolerant of your ex and his decisions. You may never like him or what he does, but you need to learn to let it go.
