I stopped by New Bar today. It is open. Never been closed. Never been sold. It may be for sale, isn't everythig for sale?

Anyone have other information? Good information?

I wonder if Richard has replaced or fixed that TV set that was 'out'. One night a couple of weeks ago , I noticed it wasn't working. Two days later it still wasn't working. Those sets must be 20 years old. On Sunday we watched the football games at Chubbs, and the place was packed. We then went to the NYB, and there were two customers there.
Kathy, the blonde bartender, is not working there anymore. She was a poor bartender, but was nice to look at.
Are they still open?

my view Chubbs could be getting the drinking crowd (old farts that sit at the bar ) but if the working girls are going there ...now that would be the news !!! and if chubbs are letting them set up shop ? I like the nyb for what it is ....the girls tend to be the same ...not the hottest but you will find a homerun now and then....the girl if you take one tends to be one that will earn the $30 to $40 us you give them .......any news on the dunn inn ? once that place start rolling ...we might see a change in where the girls are working other than DR or Key Largo

I was at Chubbs a couple of times the first week of November, and did not see Jessica. Maybe she was off for those days, or on vacation. I hope she still works there. She worked at the DR for about 14 years!

Jessica is still there. I had lunch there 2 weeks ago on a Monday.

It's a shame the New York Bar has come to this. I really used to like the place. I suppose Richard has nobody to blame, but himself. In my estimation, it's the result of poor management......everything from blaring reggae [sp?] music all day long, to bartenders with bad attitudes and "larceny in their hearts." Richard's own drunken rampages certainly didn't help, either. I'd very much like to see the New York Bar be taken over by someone who would "run it like a business."

Some of that eerily reminiscent of Bill Bullock and the Park Hotel.

Yep. It is like many of these guys think "Hey, I'm already a raging alcoholic, opening a bar would be the PERFECT business for me." :roll:

To bad about the NYB. I really liked the place. :
