I don't get it. Why would the taxi driver drop him off?. Heard on the radio that Sullivan told the taxi driver he wanted to get off now. But isn't the driver's responsibility to at least exit on a ramp and let him off there?.
Ontario Provincial Police are at a loss to explain why Patrick O’Sullivan walked into a lane of traffic on Highway 401 after getting out of a taxi on his way home to Pickering.
“He walked along the highway and for some reason, we don’t know, he veered out into traffic and got hit by numerous vehicles,” said Sgt. Dave Woodford.
O’Sullivan, 23, died before police could get him off the busy roadway after the taxi driver, who dropped him off, and several other motorists called 911 to report a pedestrian walking eastward from Neilson Rd. toward Morningside Ave. at 2:45 a.m. Saturday.
