After a seven-month-long investigation into a massage parlor allegedly involved in prostitution in Reno, the Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Unit successfully closed the business.
During the investigation, detectives found several internet ads that showed unlawful prostitution and carried out multiple surveillance operations at the 7 Star Massage located at 3967 S. McCarran Boulevard, where proof of activities connected to prostitution was found.
Reno Police say the property owners received official notice on February 26, 2025, about the progress of the property being used for prostitution, which is against Nevada Revised Statute 201.395.
They say after the notification was made, the 7 Star Massage was promptly closed after being evicted from the property on March 13th, 2025, by the owners of the building.
Police say the closure of 7 Star Massage is just one of several ongoing illicit massage parlor investigations being carried out by the HEAT Unit.
They say these investigations are done in cooperation with Reno Code Enforcement, Business Licensing, the City Attorney's Office, and the Nevada State Board of Massage Treatment.
The Reno Police Department says that in Reno, prostitution is prohibited, and they are dedicated to combating human exploitation.
They say their HEAT Unit will keep focusing on people who solicit and buy sex to maintain the cycle of exploitation, in addition to companies that support, engage in, and promote prostitution.
