Restaurant Below Rock Hard

I walked down Bangla this morning and they were gutting the restaurant below Rock Hard.

What's going in this time?

It seems like every time they change that place, they make it worse than before. At least in my opinion, they had it right ten years ago with Rock Hard go go downstairs and Smokin Joe's go go upstairs. Then they moved Rock Hard upstairs and put Club Rio downstairs. Then Club Rio went and another restaurant came in its place, but without the air conditioning. You'd think it would be easy to make money on that corner.

I have an answer to my own question.

I walked by this afternoon and they had a sign up saying it was going to he the Rock Hard massageplanete.

I bet the real Hard Rock massageplanete might have something to say about that wording. Wouldn't get away with it in many countries but TiT so chuck to filth some dosh and bobs yer uncle......and yes....fanny's yer aunt !!!

I know Rock Hard's owner had problems with hard Rock about his gogo bar' name, but at the same time there was a Hard Rock on Bangla,later to be moved to Seadragon, and there was (in the nineties) a Hard Rock in Chiang Mai.

Almost, Hard Rock at the time had no intellectual property rights at the time, the name change was goodwill. Does anyone remember the spoof Hard Rock that was on Sea Dragon i think and maybe Bangla too in the 90's with the huge cassette collection.

It's still there (seadragon) with the full collection intact.....just added up with a couple of thousands CD's.....................Same owners as in the good old days.
They had to change the Hard Rock logo, but they are still going strong.

Rock Hard will operate the Rock Hard massageplanete. In the 90's Hard Rock lost in court allowing Rock Hard to use its name forever in Thailand. And yes, the Russians are out!

Are those blueprints for a new restaurant on the ground floor? I was at the restaurant below Rock Hard as recently as the first week of February, and there didn't seem to be any renovating or construction going on. As far as I could tell it was business as usual. Not the greatest food in the world, but a very nice view of the 7pm pick-up trucks offloading their evening cargo (BGs).

Looks like these were done in Sketch-Up which I always find hard to look at. Do you have any fully rendered images? I'm having trouble understanding the concept. Is it like a bar meets food court?

im guessing the 'food centre' is just the kitchen?

i would deffo eat there more with more seats - always seems difficult to get a table. Food went downhill after a while so new menu would be interesting.
