I would love to put out on a first date if I am really attracted to the person. Even more so if I know that the relationship will not go anywhere serious, but then that makes me a slut, so I don't.

I know many women who also feel this way. Really sad if you think about.

Men would be getting alot more pussy if they didn't make women feel so badly about it afterwards.

I don't put out on the first date, and I haven't in 5 or 6 years. I often won't put out on the second or third date either. One, it gives everybody involved a moment of sober second though. Two, it's kind of nice to be jumped and molestered by a woman. Basically, I was finding that sleeping with women I wouldn't otherwise go on a second date with was a great way to have drama, and there's always 'more sex' ahead... Not to mention anticipation is often as good as the event. Additionally, it make you look like you're not desperate to get laid, which only helps, IMHO. I'm not big on games, but this is one thing I stick to that is just a little 'gamey'.

Now, I separate that out from a 'pure pickup', where I can be pretty sure where everybody knows the score... (Mind you, I pick up far less than I date.)

Frankly, in the morning, I always go get coffee and bagels, or muffins, always offer to drive her home, ALWAYS give her my number and ask her to call, and that was all after asking her what her plans were for the day. If she didn't have plans and I didn't? I ask her out for breakfast and if she wanted to spend the day with me, great. (about half the time they do).

But then again, I really haven't had many first dates in the last 5 yrs so, nevermind lol.....

I just had a convo about this with a colleague yesterday.

I think a distinction should be made between different types of asshole-ness here.

One is where the guy is simply a jerk and treats her badly the morning after, doesn't call, etc. tboy is a classy guy; do what he does and you're golden.

The other is more subtle (and hurtful). Maybe the relationship gets serious. The fact that she put out on the first date with him nags in his mind. It's the difference between a good time girl and a wife.

I've already put my $.02 in... But not having sex on the first date does build anticipation for the event, and it gives everybody a chance for no (or little) drama, no strings, second thoughts. I find it makes my life easier and better.

I've also mellowed with age. At this point I'm pretty sure there will always be 'more date sex' in the future, and if there wasn't, hell, I'm on a review board.

Mind you, I separate dating from 'pure pickup'. If we meet half in the bag in a bar, and we're doing stuff, and we're heading back to somebodies place, the there is a pretty clear expectation of sex (with any 'no' meaning 'no').

Thanks for the Kudos there Rawd, but really, to me? It wouldn't matter if she effed me on the first date or the 21st. I've had sex with a woman on the first date, and the relationship lasted 5 years, and on the 5th date, and the relationship lasted 5 yrs. In any relationship, how long she/we waited never entered into the picture.

One time she waited a month or so, and after we finally did it? I said to her "see what you've been missing out on? You lost out on probably 200 incredible orgasms" and she replied "sure, rub it in, why didn't you TELL me FFS"? lol



I'm curious: what do you mean by "goes to the trouble"??? Is that like, getting to know you, buying you drinks/dinner?, wooing you? You're right though about the guy expecting it.
