An Essex County massage therapist's license to practice has been revoked by the New Jersey Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy amid allegations that he engaged in sexual misconduct against a woman client, officials said.
Peter Petrovic, also known as Jagadisha Peter Petrovic, is permanently banned from working as a massage therapist in New Jersey as a result of allegations made by the female client, who accused him of inappropriate and unwanted sexual contact during a massage session in his office in Verona in July 2020, the Attorney General's Office said.
Petrovic surrendered his license on Dec. 23, 2024, as part of a final consent order filed with the board after the state's verified complaint on July 31, 2023. The ban is deemed permanent, with no option for him to reapply in the future.

The client who accused Petrovic of sexual misconduct was seeking "chronic pain management" in her session, the Attorney General's Office said. She accused Petrovic of inappropriately touching her while she lay under a blanket, unclothed, on a massage table.
In addition to the license revocation, Petrovic must immediately stop all client contact in any location.
The press release from the Attorney General's Office did not say whether any charges, criminal or civil, were brought against him.
