TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A Taylorville massage parlor is in the process of being shut down after police said they arrested a woman for solicitation of a sex act.

The Taylorville Police Department posted on Facebook that officers took multiple complaints from people who reported “suspicious activity” at the parlor in a mini-mall on North Webster Street. Launching an investigation, police eventually made an arrest and said the parlor is being shut down as a result. The investigation is ongoing.

Police officials also praised the partnership between the public and themselves in leading to this result.

“This is a prime example of how our community and law enforcement can work together to keep Taylorville safe,” officials said. “Even though we are a small city, we face big-city challenges — but rest assured, TPD and your local officials will not tolerate this type of activity.
