What's with all the fighting in the massage forum?

I'm a long time lurker and long time veteran of the hobby and can't help but notice the constant bickering in this forum. People are getting bent out of shape because someone gives a bad review. Or people are hurling insults at one another making accusations that can't be proven. Even moderators are taking sides in arguments admonishing people while letting their friends and advertisers off the hook.

I seriously doubt that people would act this way if they weren't hidden behind the computer screen.

Can't we all get along and enjoy the hobby for fuck's sake?

As much as it may seem unpleasant, conflict is usually positive and progressive. One cannot have Ying without Yang!

Unfortunately MIG, it only takes TWO people in a room to create "politics."

Now add the following to the mix:

* Numerous personalities and points of view

Where else could VBB, rusty, Fuzzy, kkarn, TLM, Sheikh, Milupa myself etc etc. happily co-exist?

* SEX

Some clients honestly do NOT understand the concept of YMMV. Also, If some guy I've never met tells me something via PM it must be true... right ?

* Emotions

Some members, myself included have friendships that started out as client/MPA but have evolved outside the spa. It's really hard at times not to defend girls we perhaps know very well from massageplanet.netites with limited review experience who've only seen the girl for 30 minutes EVER.

* BIG money cash business

Top MPA's can earn $1000+ per shift. Now calculate how much revenue a top MP can generate. Positive reviews equal more business. PERIOD. From a business perspective that ALONE can lead to some interesting "activities" on massageplanet.net.

My suggestion is to IGNORE posts that are off track and very negative. If some people want to spend our short Canadian summer getting stressed out over people they never HAVE and never WILL meet, who are WE to argue?

... and yeah, I've done it myself and hope I've learned from my mistakes...

Overall, the massageplanet.net MP section is still a very valuable resource to the MP client, and as long as it is, I'll continue to participate.

And to IL's thoughtful list, I add my own shameful inability to resist badgering the three-post naifswho think this whole board exists to supply an immediate one sentence answer to, "where can I get laid?"
