...Americans are getting reamed? 37 at twice the cost? WTF is this? There seems to be no end to the B.S. Other, far more successful nations, at this juncture, seem to have little if any problem with this- even in the face of massive unemployment. BTW, how are your investment dollars doing in the H.C, community of late and what should this tell the rest of us about their intentions? The insurance companies are one F'd up industry I would not mind at all going broke- this includes the parasitical entities employed by them. Since when should we sacrifice our automotive, and manufacturing base in favor of these worthless paper pushing bustards?
The invocation of any form of Kool Aid immediately renders any debate nearly impossible.

Yeah, we're getting reamed. But look how much harder we got reamed when they enacted Medicare Part B. They took a plan that would have been bankrupt in 15 years and reformed it so that it would be bankrupt in five.

C'mon....you aren't going to give insurance to 40 million people who don't have it now while lowering costs. They are the 40 million most unhealthy, most uninsurable people, at that. It's like writing auto insurance after the car is totalled. That will lower costs? Come on.

I have no love for the insurance industry, but if you think that costs are going to go down with reform, you're drinking the Kool-Aid. No one who is serious believes that. Not Obama. Not the CBO. Nobody who has run the numbers.

The problems in health care are BECAUSE the government stuck their nose in where it doesn't belong in the first place (with the creation of Medicare and Medicaid). If you think health insurance companies are the real source of the problem, you are delusional. The pharmaceutical company and health insurance lobbyists exchange handshakes and checks with the fat cats in Washington.

You shouldn't trust ANY politician who wants to inflate numbers of the people who are truly needy when it comes to health care. Have you ever wondered why these people, for some reason, don't qualify for the government-run programs already in place?

Now question is just how many thieving members of Congress and the Senate either directly or indirectly own stock in insurance companies and/or HMO's and would like to see the prices of insurance going up.

And their wanting to include illegal aliens. Begs another question. Just how many thieving members of Congress and the Senate own stocks in companies which utilize either directly or indirectly illegal aliens in their mainly farm labor forces.

I can tell you one. That is Nancy Pelosi. Her husband own around 16 million dollars in Delmonte stocks.

Here is one I personally know about. A plant closing because of the company moving it to Shanghai.

Now this is your tax dollars at work. The government {U.S.A. government} paid for the plant to be built in Shanghai. The government paid for training all the workers for the plant. The government guaranteed it would make up the difference in lost revenue. The government also guaranteed the company if the plant was nationalized they would pay the company for the plant.

Know if that one personally because when the plant here closed I got a lot of the former workers as students under the T.R.A. act.

The long and short of it is our government paid for the plant and then guaranteed the company if it got taken over they would buy it back from the company.
