Lavender Spa Thread Gone?

I was told one spa on 16th and Bayview was inspected last Thursday . They have a RMT on duty but the two girls working there didn't have RMT licences and they were told they cannot work without licence and told to pack up and go home, no tickets were given to them though. .

There will be continued focus on Beaver Creek by authorities. Another spa (well it was a brothel) closed by authorities this month was "theone spa" on 165 Beaver Creek. Honestly I think it is pretty insane spa operators think they can get away with putting 25 semi-legit spas, none of which have a body rub license, on one street and advertise it as a red light district. And yes this forum is a two-edged sword, and I assume authoritities will be very thankful for any reports here.

It has nothing to do with reviews in here. Blue Ocean and The One never had any review. Top Day aka G Moon has some reviews but they have RMT lic on the wall. So they got away at 160 East Beaver bldg.

I think spas that are pretending to be RMT clinics right now are going to encounter further inspections, and fail them.

They have the holistic license. At the time, that was enough.

Richmond Hill by-laws have no mention of holistic licensing. Non-therapeutic massage parlours require body rub licences.

The City of Toronto by-laws mention therapeutic massage (RMT and holistic), and non-therapeutic (body rubs).

The legislative meaning of holistic massage is not the same as its meaning on these forums.

Years ago bylaw and LE shut it all down. At that time it happened after the raid on the spa in the bowling alley. This time it could be any number of reasons. But mostly I'm sure it was caused by resident complaints.

I was always surprised they let such a place operate in the plaza on Highway 7 with includes a McDonalds, considering all the family traffic so close to the spa!

That's basically what happened after the last big crackdown a few years ago (around 2007/2008 IIRC).
