Erection assist advice please

For those of you using the blue or brown pill what is your experience. How long before an appointment do you take it?
I have only taken them an hour before the appointment and they don't seem to kick in soon enough. The brown pill kicks in a headache within the hour, and the erections are solid the next day after the headache is over! The blue pill gives me fuzzy eyes the until the day after. Requiring these pills has removed a lot of the joy in the hobby for me.

I find that Tadalafil (Cialis, brown/orange pill) usually needs a little more time for me - usually I plan to take between 2-3 hours before. For the headache, it might help to take only half a pill - splitting a 20mg pill in half. Doing this can still provide effects next day as well, or you can take the other half (10mg) the next day for additional activities I do find that when I take a full pill it does last longer - 2-3 days, whereas taking only half a pill might not last fully 2 days.

I don't have as much experience with Viagra, but I remember it being much faster, like 30-45 min before, but not as long-lasting (i.e. next day effects)

Reading about other's experiences I count myself lucky that I only experience mild side effects from either Cialis or Viagra. Viagra is usually cheaper so I usually go with it. Vision is only slightly blurry for a couple hours and I usually get a headache about 6 hours later but if I take an advil after sex I can prevent it. Cialis makes me a little nauseous but not overwhelmingly so. I take either about an hour before. I've heard there's a cream but it's not widely available and REALLY expensive.

I used to have the same problem, sometimes they would take up to 4 hiurs to kick in for me. Now i take one of these every morning with rest of my old man pills lol. Being such a low dose, I don't get the headache I did with the full strength ones I used to take. And im truly ready for fun anytime I wish. I personally get them off the internet, but ask your doctor and give them a try. At $140 a month, i don't think these are anymore money if you consider your ready every day of the month.

Caveat, I only take blues or yellows ( yellowish browns) when I am on trips and I wish consistent performance night after night. Doctor's initial instruction is to take 1/2 one hour before for both; yes most cost effective to buy the max dosage pills and cut them yourself. With blue, the one hour before timing works good enough; but depending on my stomach content, I may take it a little earlier. Whether I have a cheeseburger or a salad for dinner has an impact on how well blue works on me and how long it takes for it to kick in. Yellows are a different story, if my stomach is full, it doesn't kick in until the day after. I always take yellows on an empty stomach, usually late afternoon before I eat dinner; that works well for evening events and works good the next day too. If I take yellows with a full stomach, its effect is usually significantly delayed.

May be my doc is too conservative, he knows that both blues and yellows are "recreational drugs" for me so he wouldn't give me the daily stuff.

Yes. The way I understand it, the daily low dose is to treat prostate enlargement mostly- so it's "necessary" whereas the "as needed" pills are recreational.

Personally I found Viagra to be too dramatic and the side effects excessive. Even half a pill seemed to be too much for me. Cialis, as Qster says, I take half but I usually take it after a light breakfast. When I’m prowling I’m generally looking for an afternoon appt and this gives me time for it to kick in. Also gives me the option to take the other half if for some reason the first dose wasn’t enough, though that rarely happens. You don’t even need a pill cutter, I break them by hand.
The headache I have combatted with extra water consumption and either decongestant spray or allergy med. I read the headache is from nasal congestion which is a side effect of Cialis.
There is a new med out that supposedly works in 5-15min and lasts longer than Viagra but it’s so new I really haven’t put much time into investigating it.

There's a new pill (like Spexx describes) called Stendra that is supposed to act in about 15 min. but it isn't in generic form yet. I hear the price is about $300 for 6 pills!

You're correct. Full Cialis lasts obviously longer but, taking half is sufficient which is strongest in a two day window. Hits your system in a couple of hours and you're ready to go.

Thank you for the advise guys. I can't experiment at home because when my wife infrequently decides to do her wifely duty and play starfish, I don't require the pills.
It seems I should avoid a full stomach and take them 2 hours before action.

I think only a lucky minority "have a doctor" these days. It's mostly go to a walk in and get referred to a specialist when shit hits the fan.

One good thing about having a friendly doctor is that I actually got to try Levitra and Stendra for free, my doctor's clinic gets sample packs (ask or you don't get). When I initially asked for these recreational drugs, he gave me a script for generic V and sample packs of the other three to try. IMHO, in terms of effectiveness, it is V>C>L>S. In terms of side effects, from best to worst, it is S>C>L>V. Really, V's major short coming is that its side effects are stronger than others, it is headaches for me. S has virtually no side effects on me but also feel the least effective. In terms of duration, C is the clear winner, the other three are not even close. For me, V is the most effective and cheapest with generics, no brainer to use V as needed. Occasionally, I do indulge in overnight sessions, C is really handy for the whole night plus the morning after.

Although a few recent stories about fakes or fentanyl laced drugs scared me a little, one good low cost way to try the generics is to take a short Mexican vacation, no script required, just walk in and buy them and they are cheap. Per a friend's advice, only go to a well known chain, he only uses generics from Farmacias Similares chain; no guarantees, it is Mexico. Believe it or not, your Costco card works in Mexico too.

There were too many down sides to Viagra. Doesn't last a long time, headaches, vision, so I tried Cialis. I liked it way better but got headaches and a stiff neck (no, I didn't rub my neck with the pill). I started splitting the dose where I would take half and then half a few hours later. It was better but sometimes the side effects were noticeable. I am at the age of prostate monitoring so I thought I would try 5mg daily. When I picked them up, my pharmacist suggested I take it at night to mitigate any side effects. He also mentioned they can make you fatigued, which I had never heard of.

I started taking 5mg at night and there are no noticeable side effects. After a few days, I would get nocturnal and morning erections consistently. That is an extra bonus for me because it helps keep those tissues in good shape for when you need it. Speaking of "need it", it takes any planning ahead out of the equation which is very convenient.

For those who don't have a family doc or struggle with your family doc on these issues, check out a virtual option called Rocket Doctor (google it). It is covered by Alberta Health so it won't cost anything. They are usually quite knowledgeable.

Don’t underestimate improving your general health via exercise, weight loss, minimal alcohol & caffeine. Not only do they make the supplements more effective, but they can make them superfluous. And no bad side effects.

Haha I think he meant the Rocket Doctor's appointment is covered, not the 'script. I think most, if not all insurance companies do not cover the ED meds.

I chuckle about all these "Doctors" online prescribing ED meds online with "just a simple questionnaire". First of all, it probably doesn't matter how you answer the questions- you'll still get the 'script and secondly, the "Doctor" probably got his degree from "weareuniversity-degrees.com" lol!

Given the widespread use of these drugs now, I'm not surprised that these online "doctors" are now prevalent. I expect at some point at least the older drugs like Viagra will become over the counter.

Personally, I can still manage a decent erection, but some drug assist makes things a lot better. I buy 100mg Viagra and then cut them into 25mg quarters and as long as I take it on an empty (or almost empty) stomach and give it about an hour, that dosage gives me pure steel that stays up as long as I need and satisfies the GF. I really need the extra help when we're entertaining, especially for DP.

The trick is to use the smallest dosage that gives you the results you want. Higher doses only lead to more side effects.

I started out with 50mg of viagra and found that it's probably the sweet spot for dosage. I've used the 100mg dose twice so far but the side affects were much more pronounced and uncomfortable, as well as a desensitized penis making it harder to finish: I normally don't have trouble finishing myself DIY, but I've had trouble doing so while on the 100mg. the 25 mg dose I found was also a bit too low to have any real noticeable affect. I'm a bit different too compared to most people when taking Viagra: i usually take it on an empty stomach for maximum effectiveness. Because of this, I usually plan my fun time around the morning/afternoon and fast starting from the night before.

I recently tried out cialis for the first time at the 20mg max dose after eating lunch since I read that it wouldn't affect it's efficacy. However I found that despite the high dose and waiting an hour to test it's impact on my erection, the impact was quite minimal: it didn't really kick in until a day later for me and I noticed my erections were harder, albeit not has hard as when I was on viagra. Though I also did notice that it stayed in my system much longer than viagra (as it should), which was also nice if I needed a bigger window with not as much notice. I read that the higher dose was used more for as a "on demand" thing like viagra is and lasts longer, but my experience seems to suggest the higher dose just means it sticks around the system longer, but still needs much more lead time than Viagra does. Have yet to try it out at the lower doses such as the usual 10mg (I do the pill splitting thing)


Like some of the people here have already mentioned, maybe talk with you doctor and see if they can make any other suggestions or give you further insights. For Viagra, I'd recommend to try to not have a heavy meal before consumption. For Cialis, seeing as how you noticed it didn't kick in until a day later, take it a day earlier from your planned/anticipated day of 'fun'.
