Don't forget, alot of girls in the biz get married and start a family too. It's just that I have seen way to many cases where the freedom and the money this biz provides overtakes any plans/ambitions you may have.

I haven't read all the post but MPA2 I think you are putting your own personal feelings into this and ignoring the business side.

Simple put, if every MPA/Spa dropped their price to $60 BS your spa would simply have to adjust or put up a for sale sign. There are many "great" MPA's out there, and I'm sure you're one of them. But in my opinion there is not one MPA at any spa that stands out soooo much that wouldn't have to drop her price if the market dictated. This is just based on my experience.

Yeah, it's important to be safe.

As far as rules are concerned, it's not the MP's business who the MPAs decide to make friends with. What happens outside of work is the personal lives that we all enjoy. I'm not saying this is common practice, but in the passed 10 yrs I've been out to restuarants, clubbing, movies, vacations, etc. with a handful of girls. Some no longer are in the industry, but continue to keep in touch. However, since I'm not one to gift my money, I expect and deserve something for what i spend. And that is between me and one or two lucky ladies.

Here are my observations after 5 years as a client:

1.) Yes, there lots of intelligent, focused MPA's. They're using their money to establish themselves long term. IE> School, Condo etc. One of my favourites is currently in grad school.

2.) I know of at least one MPA who has a professional day job. She's an MPA to pay for things like vacations etc.

3.) WAY too many MPA's get caught in the golden handcuffs. The money goes on the MPA "lifestyle": coke, booze, clothes, cosmetic surgery. They have nothing real to show for it.

4.) Depending upon how long an MPA does number 3, she may have a real problem if she sticks around the biz too long. If she's 30 with no real resume or education, then she starts looking for the rich client or guy to marry her way out of the biz. I have a good friend who makes BIG money and does the SP rounds. I can't tell you the number of SP's that have gotten in touch with him privately and the angle is always the same.

As a matter of fact YES! Im so proud to say that! I completely understand that I lucked out by working with an amazing bunch of women throughout my MPA existance. I know that isnt the norm for some, maybe for many. I have seen many retire once their goals were completed. Sometimes new goals and added time came up, but most are either still on their way, or done and successful in their 'real lives'. The women I work with currently are much the same. A select bunch are smart, ambitious, and completely goal orriented. Now, the odd crackerjack shows up, but they dont last long in our environment. There are other spas more suited for them I guess.

I don't know about the whole barter thing, but if a girl offers a client a break and helps him save some money, what is wrong with that? You make the slippery slope argument and how in the long-run it can absolutely kill the MP business, but I'm sure there are girls who offer their clients a break in price regardless of econmic times and I just don't see it destryoing the MP business. If it did, MP's wouldn't open up and girls wouldn't bother working there. Granted, you would know a lot more about this than I would, but I don't see MP owners and attendents running to the poor house.

Also, if a girl starts lowering her prices, it really shouldn't affect you. You state your service is a premium and of significant value, so your clients should be more than happy paying your fee.

How do you come up with that "certain amount" anyways? You are worth ONLY what people will pay you. Just like in anything else demand vs suppy. Doesn't matter if you're selling TVs or hand jobs. If all the parlours start charging $20.00 door fees and $50.00 for bodyslides, you only get 1 customer a day or none at all, then we will see how fast you lower your price or move on to something else.

I am not one to bargain at parlours because I do agree that it would hinder any potential service. Besides if I'm out to have fun, 20 bucks does not really matter to me. But, good for that MPA that gave the guy 20 bucks off. Better make 80 than nothing at all. I mean let's face it, if you're at the Spa and you have no appts booked, a guy shows up and offers you $20.00 less, why would you not take it? I don't mean this in a degrading way way but it's not like what you are offering actually has a dollar value. Not like someone is offering you $3500.00 for a TV that cost you $4000.00. The only cost in your business is your time and if you have it...

How about the crack whore that gives BJs all day long for $40.00 in some corner downtown. She's worth $40.00 only because all the other crack whores charge $40.00 too.

It all started with a joker posting a joke about a lousy $20 discount! Later, he said he was just kidding! .... 9 pages and 174 responses later ... :

1) I hope we all learned not to argue with massageplanet.net's Princess! There is a reason that I call her "Princess". While you kept arguing on behalf of a few cheap horny guys, she was fighting to defend thousands of other MPAs in this country and to teach us ... their way or highway! Trust me, it was NOT for her own sake only.

2) Let's always keep in mind that they are worth a lot more. There must be a reason that we go visit them once or more every week (or day!). In my case, due to personal reason, I would like to stay away from any kind of serious relationship. As of this writing, I'm unsure how long, however, like every other normal human being, I'm unable to control my sexual needs. It would drive me crazy. These angels help me with my needs ... paying them whatever they want and kissing their hands before I leave the room ... is the least to thank them.

Well, nothing is wrong with a girl cutting a break to someone. i have actually had 2 regulars I let pay me a week after the fact...they came through with the cash, so they always have credit with me. Also, during a hard time i had 2 yrs ago, I had 1 client offer to pre-pay a bunch to help me out. Its a give and take this biz. Too far to any one direction and its not healthy.

I didnt mean undercharging will ruin the industry...I should have been more clear...Im talking about at a specific place...it can ruin an established place. I struggled through 2 rounds of that at one spa...booming business, then a FS girl shows up and causes a blip in business for the rest of us...she gets fired and a few months later things return to norm...then an undercharger shows up on scene...the spa closed down within 3 months!! On to location #2 and the same pattern arose...about 2 yrs later...a few mileage blips and then another undercharger came along...girls were leaving because they were tired of being haggled by clients and tired of girls underselling. On our side of things its a pride factor too. its hard to watch a girl undercharge. Its annoying to deal with mileage girls, but its actually sad to think a girl needs to discount to keep/get clients.

Also, I want to say this...I said earlier that there are other ways to make it up to a guy without shortchanging yourself...staying a few extra mins in a room for example...I have read many glowing reviews and most will state that they went a lil over time and she didnt mind a bit. Or creative mileage increases (no, not FS, just added tricks/stuff). Or inviting a hot coworker in at the end for fun. A gift at Xmas or his Bday. Suggestions of hot MPA's to see, or a coffee one cold afternoon. Anyone who knows me knows Im far from a money hungry girl, in fact, quite the opposite. You guys seem to be so focused on the $. Im saying the price is what it is, lets get over that. The experience is what you pay for and a great one is worth its weight in gold. The way you feel after the smile crosses your face later that afternoon as an instant replay flashes in your mind....ahhhh!

This post caught my attention because I think its terrible to short anyone. Time service or money. All are invaluable!!! And if she offered, she's so great to be that kind, TIP THE WOMAN! Real genuine attendants are priceless. I have known many.

BTW, I'm not suggesting that set MPA prices shouldn't be lowered slightly... at the entire spa. There might be benefits to all.

I just like the concept of a set price where I know what I'm paying coming in, and don't have to negotiate that price.
